    I suppose scent of vanilla may disturb the original taste of Matcha.

    Hope he sticks with ice cream, cuz I just watched him on the National Pie Challenge doing a totally amateur job on a prebaked crust. It looked like he didn’t know what he was doing, and that he had not practiced his recipe. He prebaked a crust without any blinding, and was actually SURPRISED when it shrunk. Yet he claimed to be a culinary instructor and a chef. Anyone can join the challenge, but hello, do your homework, especially on television.

    @pausethe
    It may surprise you to know that many Japanese people love matcha with vanilla ice-cream.

    the american cheffs are realy lazy bastards! and all american recepies must be done in 5 minutes or it has no appeal to the masses of shallow americans!

    no no no! This vanilla ice cream will take away from the richness of the tea flavor! The haagen daz green tea ice cream is way too creamy/vanilla-ish and nothing like the real matcha green tea ice cream! It is supposed to be real bright green, not light white-ish green. such a huge difference in flavor. some good japanese restaurants will have the real good stuff, but until you try the real stuff, this crap is just ridiculous and will never pass for the real thing!

    @Aozakura25 Because thats actually is a green tea ice cream made from scratch without using any vanila , but what he did was basically get a vanilla flavored icream and mixed it with greentea powder,
