Green Tea Cupcakes With Kinako Frosting
Green tea and kinako : the perfect combination. CLICK FOR FULL RECIPE: Ingredients: -1/2 cup butter -3/4 cup sugar -1 large egg -1 egg yolk -1 teaspoon baking powder -1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour -pinch of salt -1/2 cup milk -1 tablespoon green tea powder -1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract KINAKO FROSTING: -1/4 cup milk -1/4 cup powdered sugar -1 tablespoon flour -1 tablespoon kinako -1/4 cup butter -1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract Preheat oven to 350 F. Cream SOFTENED butter and sugar. Mix in eggs in 2 additions. Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, and green tea powder. Add half of the dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Mix. Add milk and remaining dry ingredients and mix. Bake for 20 minutes. FROSTING: Cook flour, milk, sugar, 1/2 tablespoon kinako over medium heat until it becomes thick. Beat until cooled down. Add butter 1 tablespoon at a time. Add vanilla and 1/2 tablespoon of kinako. Frost cupcakes(cooled down) and dust with extra kinako.
